Benazir Bhutto assassination case: FIA includes accountant of Gujranwala Police in probe

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) included the accountant of Gujranwala Police in the on-going investigation of Benazir Bhutto assassination case after seizing the cellular phone being used by Saud Aziz from his possession. Informed sources privy to investigation agency revealed that the FIA investigation team has obtained the record of mobile phone being used by Saud Aziz in 2007 from mobile company; however the phone was in use of the accountant.
Saud Aziz has once again misguided the investigation team and gave wrong mobile phone number, which was in use of Gujranwala Police accountant, who was also included in the investigation after obtaining the record, sources said. It is pertinent to mention that Saud Aziz remained RPO Gujranwala after he was transferred from Rawalpindi.
Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Special Prosecutor of FIA during the hearing in anti-Terrorist Court No III read out a statement of FIA Assistant Director Asghar Jatoi in which he stated that Saud Aziz and other detained police officer former SP Rawal town Khurram Shahzad are not co-operating with investigators and are constantly misguiding the investigation team. He also stated that being senior police officers, both the detained accused are well known about the investigation tactics, so that they are playing tricks to hide the facts.
