Implementation of 10-point agenda: PML-N expresses dissatisfaction over progress

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the progress so far made on implementation of the 10-point agenda given by it for steering the country out of the prevailing crisis.
Addressing a consultative meeting of the party, which reviewed the progress made so far on the 10-point agenda, Nawaz Sharif called upon his party's committee members tasked to negotiate with the government to ensure implementation of the agenda within the prescribed period of 45 days to ensure its implementation.
As Prime Minister Gilani had promised Nawaz Sharif on January 04 to implement the 10-point agenda within 45 days. However, the PML-N's senior leadership termed the overall progress made so far, as dissatisfactory in the meeting at Punjab House, which was also attended by Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and others.
Nawaz Sharif said there would be not extension in the 45-day timeframe, adding that extension will not be in the best national interest. He directed the committee members to exert pressure on the government to make public the list of those who got their loans written off on political grounds, so that the public money be recovered and deposited to the national exchequer.
He asked his party's committee members to ensure implementation on the reforms agenda within 45 days at all cost and contribute wholeheartedly to make it a reality, besides convincing the government's sides to concentrate on execution of the agenda putting aside all others public engagements.
Senator Ishaq Dar, head of the PML-N's committee on the 10-point agenda, updated the meeting on the past three sessions held with the government's team headed by Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. The meeting expressed serious apprehension over no progress on a number of issues highlighted in the agenda that could have been addressed up till now without further delay. The meeting also discussed the country's prevailing political situation.
