Chicago Board of Trade grain futures were higher on Wednesday, with wheat leading the way amid strong export sales and news that Algeria is aggressively seeking wheat imports, traders said. Front-month wheat futures were up more than 2 percent, and forged a new 29-month high at $8.57-1/4.
The rally in wheat led corn and soyabeans higher, with the March corn contract facing resistance at contract highs of $6.67. CBOT trends at 10:00 am CST (1600 GMT) on Wednesday: March wheat up 18 cents at $8.56-1/4 per bushel. March corn up 12 cents at $6.56 per bushel. March soyabeans up 9-1/4 cents at $13.83-3/4 per bushel.
