Moonis Elahi escaped with connivance of influential persons: PML-N
Reacting to fleeing of PML-Q leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi prior to be listed on Exit Control List (ECL), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Parliamentary Secretary Dr Saeed Elahi, has said that Moonis Elahi son of former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi managed to flee away from country with the connivance of very influential persons from Federal government and big wigs of MQM to evade arrest under charges of massive corruption, fraud and extortion.
The PML-N leader alleged that Moonis Elahi and his father mercilessly looted the resources of Pakistan and made investments in industry and real estate in different countries, including Spain, Korea, Thailand, UK and even UAE. He said, "Pervez Elahi had been levelling false and fabricated allegations against Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to cover their misdeeds, heinous crimes and illegal acts but now the divine justice has taken place."
According to Saeed Elahi, Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared Moonis Elahi as "looter" and also ordered to put his name on ECL. Even then he fled away with the help of political allies and masters. Dr Saeed Elahi said that day is not far when these bandits and burglars would be brought back with the help of Interpol. They will be brought to justice and produced before the courts to decide their fate. Looted national money would be recovered to spend for the welfare of poor Pakistanis, he said.
It may be noted that FIA had arrested Moonis Elahi's manager Abdul Maalick in connection with Rs 3.3 billion land scam of National Insurance Corporation Limited and the FIA officials told that main accused of the scam had given Rs 220 million to Moonis Elahi.
