Imposition of WHT: agriculture commodities traders convene meeting

Traders believe that the imposition WHT on agriculture produce would further increase the prices of every day commodities. He said their Association had called a meeting on Thursday (today) to decide future strategy. However, he said, no intimation or notification has been received yet, but traders were really worried about this new taxation. He said that the imposition of WHT on agriculture produce would further increase the food inflation, which was already touching peaks.
Ijaz pointed out that traders from different fruit and vegetable markets had already launched campaigns against WHT imposition. A number of protests had already been witnessed in different vegetable and fruit markets and traders would not give up in their struggle against the new taxation regime.
