The Karachi Port handled 109,060 tonnes of cargo including 62,980 tonnes of import cargo, 46,080 tonnes of export cargo, 5,603 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 62,980 tonnes comprised of 31,767 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,713 tonnes of general cargo and 27,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,080 tonnes comprised of 34,417 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,438 tonnes of general cargo; 3,728 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,396 tonnes of wheat; 2,332 tonnes of cement and 5,497 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely CSL Ride, MOL Seabreeze, APL Amman, Khorfakkan, Sorrelle, Overseas Mindoro, Freedom and Prestige New York with containers, crude oil, LSF oil, general cargo and vehicles sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Abadeh, Lucky Lady-1, Chem Hydra, Good Providence, Trave Trader, Al-Mirqab, Bunga Raya Lima, Mariner, Strong, Freedom, Prestige New York and Nirmal Priti carrying crude oil, base oil, palm oil, coal, containers, car carriers, tug and steel coil respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Hanjin Paris, Lucky Lady-1, Al-Mirqab and Bunga Raya Lima carrying containers, base oil and containers respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely Trave Trader, Abadeh and Chem Hydra with containers, crude oil and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
A container vessel viz Lt Genova due to arrive on Tuesday, while nine vessels viz MT Lahore, Sichem Melbourne, Alpine Athlia, Box Master, Busan Express, Cap George, Surreal, Rain Bow and MT Sargodha with crude oil, chemicals, LSF oil, containers, wheat and for repair respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV Kaethe C Rickmers, CV NYK Kai, MV Rana, MV Island Star, MV Rain Bow, MV Glory, MT Chembulk Singapore and MT Olympic Sponsor are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sugar, palm oil and crude oil respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Alexi-1, Blue Sea, Trans Ocean, Al-Soor-II, Kimon-A, Nedlloyd Barenstz and Royal Periodic carrying cement, furnace oil, sugar, diesel oil, rice, containers and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of six vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Barenstz, CV Al-Noof, CV Abu Dhabi, MV Kimon-A, MT Royal Periodic anc MV Trans Ocean scheduled to load/offload containers, rice, sugar and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1) & (MW-4) and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
