Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 295,629 tonnes of cargo including 201,736 tonnes of import cargo, 93,893 tonnes of export cargo, 6,497 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 201,736 tonnes comprised of 88,406 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26,100 tonnes of coal and 87,230 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 93,893 tonnes comprised of 78,844 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30 tonnes of general cargo; 4,519 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,162 tonnes of wheat; 3,357 tonnes of cement and 10,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Ten ships namely TS Jakarta, OOCL Dalian, APL Sharjah, MSC Oslo, Thana Bhum, Bunga Pelangi Dua, New Legend Sun, Lady Jasmine, Vinashin Melody and Go Trader with containers, cement, oil tanker and coal sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eleven vessels viz Nadeem, MSC Oslo, Thana Bhum, Bunga Pelangi Dua, MOL Seabreeze, CSL Ride, Hanjin Paris, APL Amman, Sorrelle, Khorfakkan and Overseas Mindoro carrying containers and oil tankers are currently at the berths.
Seven ships namely Sorrelle, Prestige New York, Overseas Mindoro, MOL Seabreeze, Freedom, APL Amman and Hanjin Paris carrying oil tankers, vehicles, naptha, containers, vehicles and containers respectively expected to sail on Monday, while three ships namely CSL Ride, Orient-III and Al-Mirqab with cement and containers respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessels viz Al-Mirqab, Kota Handal, Good Providence and Nirmal Priti carrying containers, coal and Steel coil respectively due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz Bunga Raya Lima, OEL Shreyas, Amanda, Busan Express, Lt Genova and Mariner with containers and vehicles respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 102,206 tonnes includes 16,842 tonnes of crude oil; 22,580 tonnes of furnace oil; 20,400 tonnes of palm oil; 6,174 tonnes of sugar and 36,210 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 19,787 tonnes includes 4,071 tonnes of wheat; 2,360 tonnes of cement and 13,356 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely MSC Anafi and MV Yong Phung Ho sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely MV Maersk Montana is expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz MV Maersk Montana, CV NYK Kai, MSC Anafi, Island Star, MV Rana, MV Yong Phung Ho, MV Rain Bow, Olympic Sponsor and Chembulk Singapore are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, sugar, crude oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Alexi-1, Blue Sea, Trans Ocean, Al-Soor-II and Kaethe C Rickmers carrying cement, furnace oil, sugar, diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz Kaethe C Rickmers is expected to take berth at Container Terminal on Monday.
