On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, a government committee set up for the restoration of sacked employees of KESC met with KESC management at CM House, here on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by Sindh Minister for Power Shazia Marri, participated by Rafique Engineer, Rashid Hussain Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Khuwaja Izharul Haq, Senator Abdul Haseeb, Khaalid Iftikhar, and Amir Nawab Managing Director KESC Tabish Gohar, Mazhar-ul-Haq, Tayyab Tareen, Gufran Atta Khan and Asif Manzoor represented the KESC in meeting. Government committee members vehemently condemned sacking of employees from Karachi Electric Supply Company (KEWSC) and demanded their reinstatement with immediate effect.
Committee told KESC management that it had not taken all the stakeholders on board while sacking these employees. Shazia Marri said that KESC management''s decision was not acceptable to anyone, besides all "political and religious parties are deploring the KESC decision."
KESC management also presented their arguments over their decision with regard to the sacking of employees. Later, both sides decided to meet again on 23rd January at CM House to resolve the issue. Earlier, government committee members led by Sindh Minister for Power Shazia Marri called on CBA representatives of KESC Haji Shahzad, Usman Baloch and Peoples Workers Union general secretary Latif Mughal. The Committee members expressed unity with representatives of CBA Union and assured them that government would take efforts to resolve the matter in favour of employees.
