Taiwan stocks ended 0.75 percent lower on Friday, with semiconductors further pressuring the index ahead of major technology companies' quarterly results due out next week. Semiconductors shares slipped 1.28 percent, with TSMC and UMC, the world's two largest contract chipmakers, fell 2.36 percent and 0.85 percent, respectively.
The main TAIEX share index dropped 67.79 points to 8,954.38, after opening down 0.96 percent. Electronics shares fell 0.92 percent.
