The country's total liquid foreign reserves reached at ever-highest level of $17.281 billion because of high foreign inflows sent by overseas Pakistanis. According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) the country's total liquid foreign reserves have posted an increase of $190.7 million to $17.281 billion on week ended on January 15, 2011 from $17.090 billion a week earlier.
The reserves held by SBP increased by $219.2 million to $13.657 billion during the last week as compared to $13.437 billion a week earlier. While, foreign exchange reserves held by banks have witnessed declining trend and down by $28.5 million during the last week. With current decline, overall foreign reserves held by banks decline to $3.624 billion, as compared to $3.6531 billion a week earlier.
