Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has advised the vegetable growers to save their crops from frost and severe cold by reducing the quantity of water being given to the vegetables. In an advisory issued here on Thursday, PAD experts said that water present in stems, branches and leaves of different crops create crystals at these places due to severe frost damaging the growth of plants.
While severe cold might also result in death of the plant too. Growers should reduce the quantity of water to save the crops from the affects of frost, the advisory added.
