Moong prices up, rice rates mixed on grain market

Moong went up sharply and rice prices were mixed on the wholesales grain and seed market on Thursday amid thin trading, dealers said. On the cereal side moong prices were higher by Rs 300 to Rs 10250. Gur low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 6500 and superior type was up by Rs 300 to Rs 7300, other items showed no change due to balanced demand and supply factor, they said.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type shed Rs 30 to Rs 3330 and good type also followed the same pattern, losing Rs 25 to Rs 3350. Irri-white low type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2750 and best quality was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2800, they said. On the seed side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type went up by Rs 60 to Rs 1280 and best quality was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1300, they said.
