At least five people including a son of senior activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement were killed in different incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday. According to police sources, a son of the senior activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was targeted by unidentified armed pillion riders when he was sitting with his friend at Mid-City residential apartment located at Iqbal Colony, in the limits of PIB police station.
The victim, who was identified as Shahzaib, 19 son of Humayun, had received several gunshots and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital through Chippa ambulance service. The shops and other commercial activities at PIB colony were closed after his death. In another incident, a labour buried alive in a mudslide in the limits of Soldier Bazar Police station.
According to police sources, a mudslide fell on three labours when they were busy in laying a gas pipeline for CNG station near Aziz plaza at Lasbella. They said the local people started rescuing them when one of the labours came out and called people for help. They said that Zaman Khan 52, seriously injured in this incident and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital while others were rescued.
Some three bullet riddled bodies were found at different vicinities of the metropolis. The body of a victim, who was identified as Zainulabideen, 29 alias Naushad son of Ataullah and the resident of Sahib Dad Goth, was found from Shaheed ground Malir in the limits of Malir City police station. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. Police said that the victim was involved in multiple offences and also nominated in robbery and attempt to murder cases by Malir city police station. He might be killed by his accomplice, they maintained. Police registered an FIR No 11/11 and started investigation in this connection.
Similarly, one more bullet riddled and tortured body of a youth was found in a garbage drum at Lyari in the jurisdiction of Chakiwara police station. The victim, who was identified Asim, 28 son of Naseem was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for autopsy. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
Another bullets punctured body, identified as Abdul Kareem 32 son of Hayat Khan, was found in bushes at Ahsanabad industrial area in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
