Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 127,875 tonnes of cargo including 101,553 tonnes of import cargo, 26,322 tonnes of export cargo, 6,247 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 101,553 tonnes comprised of 37,511 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,821 tonnes of bulk cargo and 53,221 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,322 tonnes comprised of 23,975 tonnes of containerised cargo; 415 tonnes of general cargo; 1,832 tonnes of bulk cargo and 100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Al-Wajba, Al-Brisbane and Al-Saada with containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Wan Hai-605, MT Lahore, Argent Bloom, President Folk, Abtin-1 and Lodestar Genesis carrying containers and oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Yalibel, Liberty Star, MT Lahore, President Folk, Wan Hai-605 and Lodestar Genesis carrying coal, wheat, crude oil, containers and chemicals expected to sail on Wednesday, while another ship namely Abtin-1 with containers is expected to sail on Thursday.
Six vessels viz Precedence, Lady Jasmine, Overseas Mindoro, Vinashin Melody, Concord and Saigon Express carrying ethanol, molasses, Naphtha, Mogas and containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while six vessels viz MT Karachi, Sorrelle, Lucky Lady, Hanjin Paris, Kota Akbar and Go Trader with crude oil, diesel oil, base oil, containers and coal respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total export cargo of 17,917 tonnes includes 1,250 tonnes of wheat; 2,711 tonnes of cement and 13,956 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Nedlloyd Mercator sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while edible oil ship namely Bow Panther is expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Mercator, Al-Farahidi, MV Leopard-B, Rana, Rain Bow, Yon Phung Ho, Enrico Ievoli, Gulf Tiger and Bow Panther are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, sugar, chemicals, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Eight ships namely Alexi-1, Island Star, Olympic Sponsor, Sichem Osprey, Maritime Kelly Anne, Izumo, Al-Salam-II and CGM Jade carrying cement, crude oil, containers, edible oil, crude palm oil, containers, diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz Izumo, CGM Jade, Al-Salam-II and Maritime Kelly Anne carrying containers, diesel oil and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
