Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that a workable solution of Karachi situation would be found out with political consensus. He said that critical issues could not be resolved in one day. However, provincial set-up in consultation with the concerned political groups was trying to find an amicable solution to the problem.
"The basic solution of Karachi's situation is political one and whatever solution the provincial government decides, the federal government will support it," he said this in a programme of a private news channel. The programme, especially telecast to discuss situation in Karachi was also participated by MQM's Waseem Akhtar, ANP's Bashir Ahmed Bilour and journalist Tariq Butt.
"The situation in Karachi is not an issue of a single party. This is a serious issue and I think its solution is a political one not military one," he replied to a question. He said that target killings in Karachi were neither a political nor an ethnic issue. Some groups were targeting one another for their vested interests who would be arrested soon.
