At least three persons were killed and two injured in different incidents of target killings across the metropolis on Tuesday. According to police sources, a youth was shot dead while two other injures near Disco Bakery in the limits of Mobina Town police station.
They said Hewand Khan 23, son of Ahmed Shah was targeted by unknown armed bike-riders at Gulshan-e-Iqbal block IV in the wee hours of Tuesday, when he was sitting with his friends Ahsan and Talha in the front of Ahsan House.
They said Hewand had received fatal bullets wounds and died on the spot while his friend Ahsan and Talha sustained minor injures. The injured were shifted to the nearest private hospital while the body of Hewand was shifted to JPMC. Police said the victim had no political affiliation and might be killed on personal enmity.
In another incident, an elderly man was shot dead in Jummah Goth Malir within Al Falah police station precincts. The victim Gul Hassan Magsi 63 was killed when he was on the way to meet his friend at Jummah Goth Malir. His body was shifted to JPMC for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim had no political or religious party affiliations. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
A security guard was also gunned down at F B Area (Ancholi) in the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station. The victim Noor Mohammad Jakhrani 24 was killed by unknown armed men when he was performing his duty near Omar Mosque, block 18 F B Area.
Police said the victim had received two bullets wounds and succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy. No case was registered till filing the report.
