'994,648 patients treated in LGH in 2010'

In order to provide better health facilities to every person the administration of Lahore General Hospital LGH) has converted it into patients' lover hospital.
Briefing about the performance and services during the previous year, the spokesman of LGH said on Sunday that 994,648 patients were arrived in emergency and out-door during the year 2010 adding that medicines worth Rs 186,400,000 were provided free of cost to the patients in the previous year.
Defining the dialysis system of the hospital, he said that that was the only Centre in Punjab, which was air-conditioned and free of cost dialysis of patients was being done 24 hours of the day.
He said that there are separate machines for the patients of Hepatitis so that the other patients could not affect from the patients of Hepatitis. He said that the modern building of hospital is comprised of modern techniques of medical field and it is providing free of cost medical facilities to the patients. He said that patients arrive in General Hospital from all over the country, adding that department of neurosurgery of the hospital is considered Centre of Excellence in the country.
He said that PGMI Punjab is only attached department of LGH in the country where doctors come from all provinces of the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir for specialisation and students are equipped with the latest research being done in the field of medicine in the world so that these students could treat patients in a perfect manner.
