Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police gets 50 percent increase in basic salary

Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has announced 50 percent increase in the basic salary of police force keeping in view their sacrifices and professional requirements. The announcement was made by him on Saturday while addressing the 'annual darbar' of police as chief guest.
Announcing the increase, the chief minister expressed the belief that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police would continue to remain active against abductors and social evils. He termed abduction a social cancer. He further said that he has established a unique relationship with police and considers it a part of his body. Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of the force, he said, "our existence owes to sacrifices of police. The martyrs gave their blood for the survival of the country and the nation".
Referring to the law and order situation, he said that responsibility of police has increased manifold due to the happenings at the national and international level in past years. Police are facing severe challenges from terrorists, but have performed extra ordinarily in odd circumstances, he noted. He added that police force received acknowledgement for their professional capacity after combating insurgency.
Hoti said the police officers and officials are making history. There is no such example in the world that policemen are sacrificing their lives by embarrassing suicide bombers. He termed KP police the best force of the country. He further said, "not only our direction is right due to the sacrifices against terrorism, but also we are heading towards our destination successfully." He said that though it was a huge challenge to maintain law and order during Muharrram and National Games, no single unpleasant incident happened due to the professional strategy of the police. We have given a positive message to world by successful holding of sports, he said.
About the welfare steps being taken for police, the chief minister said that for enhancement of capacity building, provincial government has increased the force and provided weapons, bullet proof jackets, vehicles and enhanced Shuhadas' package. He pointed out that the number of police force has reached 80,000 while in the past, it was 4,000. He further said that the provincial government is providing plots to the family of martyrs and where there are no plots, cash amount equal to price of plots was given. Free education from primary to post graduation, complete salary till the age of retirement and employment in police are such privileges whose example could not be found anywhere, he said. He thanked Army Chief, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiani for providing facility of weapons and modern training to the police force against terrorism. Inspector General KP Police also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the performance of the force.
