Power to industrial units: TACCI to launch protest movement against Tesco

Tribal Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI) has announced to launch protest movement against Tribal Electricity Supply Company (Tesco) for suspending power supply to the industrial units of Bara, Khyber Agency.
The laid off workers of the industrial units closed due to the suspension of power supply also joined industrialists in their protest and threatened to go on hunger strike to protest against the power distribution company.
Presiding over an emergency meeting of the executive committee of the chamber, President TACCI, Fayyaz Ali Khan protested against attitude of the management of the company and said that industrialists have concerns over the kidnapping of their employees, but still power supply to their units was cut off. He further said that they condemned kidnapping of the employees and termed it a gruesome act, but Tesco is bracketing industrialists with the kidnappers and creating problems for them.
Speaking on the occasion, former president, TACCI, Mohammad Akbar Khan advocate said that the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in general and Federally Administered Tribal Areas in particular are facing problems due to terrorism and militancy and the prevailing uncertain situation has brought them on the verge of collapse. He said that majority of residents of Fata are unemployed while suspension of power supply has put off stoves of their kitchens.
He demanded Governor KP, Owais Ahmad Ghani and Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to work towards creation of job opportunities for the people of tribal areas to protect them from deprivations and lure them towards legal business activities. Senior vice president, Usman Ghani, vice presidents, Gul Ayaz Khan, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and executive members of the chamber also spoke on the occasion.
