The Karachi Port handled 99,966 tonnes of cargo including 50,628 tonnes of import cargo, 49,338 tonnes of export cargo, 2,935 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 50,628 tonnes comprised of 14,575 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,611 tonnes of general cargo; 18,400 tonnes of coal and 11,042 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 49,338 tonnes comprised of 28,103 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,031 tonnes of general cargo; 9,709 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,496 tonnes of cement; 6,213 tonnes of clinker and 10,495 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Ocean Promoter, Nordic Pia, Hanjin Berlin, Verity, Al-Soor-II, MSC Ayala, Bavaria Express and Medi Chennal with containers, oil tanker, containers, oil tanker, containers and bulk cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz New Legand Sun, MSC Ayala, Patriotic, TS Qingdao, Pacific Express, Sima Sahba, Yalibel and Overseas Mindoro carrying bags, containers, oil tanker, containers, general cargo, containers, bulk cargo and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely FPMC P Fortune, Patriotic, TS Qingdao and Pacific Express carrying oil tanker, containers and general cargo respectively expected to sail on Friday, while five ships namely Sima Sahba, Bow Santos, Abdullatif S, Da Hua and CMB Maxime with containers, oil tanker, cement, general cargo and coal respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Three container vessels viz Marcampania, Kota Anggerik and APL Guangzhou carrying containers due to arrive on Friday, while eleven vessels viz Al-Saada, Teera Bhum, Abtin-1, Lt Trieste, OEL Trust, CSL Ride, YM North, Cape Manuel, Polaris Leader, De Shan and CS Salina with base oil, containers, cars, cement and steel respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A container ship namely CV OOCL Kobe sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CSAV Appennini and Sichem Melbourne are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz OOCL Kobe, CSAV Appennini, Leopard-B, MV Lagonda and Sichem Melbourne and Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Yon Phung Ho, Alexi-1, Galaxy and Rain Bow carrying wheat, cement, containers and sugar respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz MV Galaxy and Rain Bow carrying containers and sugar respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday.
