The Karachi Port handled 135,549 tonnes of cargo including 73,367 tonnes of import cargo, 62,182 tonnes of export cargo, 5,136 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 73,367 tonnes comprised of 38,294 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,347 tonnes of general cargo; 3,726 tonnes of coal and 29,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 62,182 tonnes comprised of 14,907 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,087 tonnes of general cargo; 13,055 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,255 tonnes of cement; 9,800 tonnes of clinker and 33,133 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Mpacific Champ, Marina Bay and APL Cyprine with bulk cargo, general cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Ocean Promoter, Hanjin Berlin, CMS Maxime, Da Hua, Verity and Bavaria Express carrying containers, bulk cargo, general cargo, tanker and containers respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Nordic Pia, Verity, Hanjin Berlin, Al-Soor-II and Patriotic carrying molasses, ethanol, containers diesel oil and tankers respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Bavaria Express and FPMC P Fortune with containers and naptha respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Sima Sahba, TS Qingdao and De Shan carrying containers and cement due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz Marcampania, Abtin-1, Kota Anggerik, Rolldock Sun and Pacific Express with containers, dredgers and steel & general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
A total number of eight vessels viz ACX Rafflesia, MSC Jenny, CGM Wagner, Leopard-B, Sichem Melbourne, MV Lagonda, MV Scotia Spirit and Argent Aster are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Alexi-1, Galaxy, Yon Phung Ho, OOCL Kobe and CSAV Appennini carrying cement, edible oil, wheat and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz OOCL Kobe, CSAV Appennini and Galaxy carrying containers and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
