Shanghai copper gains

Shanghai's benchmark third-month copper futures contract gained 0.7 percent to 70,990 yuan a tonne on Wednesday. Aluminium rose $4.75 to $2,501.75. Prices of the lightweight metal have been surprisingly resilient, traders noted, down around 0.8 percent, versus a 1.6 percent fall in zinc and a rise of 1 percent in copper.
