The Karachi Port handled 159,814 tonnes of cargo including 125,938 tonnes of import cargo, 33,876 tonnes of export cargo, 5,609 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 125,938 tonnes comprised of 33,900 tonnes of containerised cargo; 978 tonnes of general cargo; 21,000 tonnes of coal and 71,060 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,876 tonnes comprised of 21,812 tonnes of containerised cargo; 758 tonnes of general cargo; 11,006 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,106 tonnes of cement; 7,900 tonnes of clinker and 300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Al-Mirqab, MOL Success, APL Shenzhen, Bow Century and Galaxy with containers, tallow and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Wan Hai-602, Bunga Raya Dua and Nordic PIA carrying containers and molasses respectively are currently at the berth.
Three ships namely MT Karachi, Saeed and Wan Hai-602 carrying crude oil, cement and containers respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while two ships namely Bunga Raya Dua and Pacific Champ with containers and rock phosphate respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. Eight vessels viz Overseas Mindoro, Asashid Mard, Ocean Promoter, Hanjin Berlin, MSC Ayala, Bavaria Express, Mare Doro, and Da Hua carrying jet oil, containers, rock phosphate and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
Six ships namely Scotia Spirit, Galaxy, Yon Phung Ho, Hammonia Pomerenia, Nedlloyd Drake and UASC Dammam carrying furnace oil, edible oil, wheat and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz Hammonia Pomerenia, Nedlloyd Drake, UASC Dammam, Scotia Spirit and Galaxy carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
