Peter Hughes, formerly Head of Global Risk Management (Shared Technology & Operations) with J.P. Morgan Chase will be conducting a briefing in Karachi, January 25, 2011 on key aspects relating to capital charges, leverage ratio, liquidity and counter-party credit risk, as detailed in the "Basel III" document released by BCBS in December 2010.
The full-day session, relevant for senior managers and risk, finance and audit professionals with responsibility for implementing or ensuring Basel compliance, will consider Basel III implications for banks, with particular regard to capital management (ICAAP); the evolving relationship between regulatory, economic and available (book) capital; and risk appetite.
Besides adding value to risk management capability in domestic banking, knowledge from the event, first of its kind in this region, will enable Pakistani bankers to maintain their professional edge in a competitive employment environment. The briefing is to be followed by a 2-day focused workshop on "Risk Quantification Techniques for Capital Management" (January 26 & 27, 2011), both programmes being arranged by TXT SOLARIS, a Karachi-based financial training consultancy.-PR
