The Virtual University (VU) held ceremony to distribute gold medals and certificates of merit among the students. Vice Chancellor, University of Punjab, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest on the occasion and awarded gold medals to 85 students. Many other eminent personalities from the education sector also attended the ceremony.
Dr Kamran while addressing on the occasion appreciated the quality education being provided by the university with the use of information and communication technologies. He lauded the efforts of the university to extend its outreach in over 75 cities of the country with over 165 virtual campuses, which are providing state-of-the-art infrastructure support to the students.
Rector of Virtual University of Pakistan, Professor Dr Naveed Akhtar Malik, highlighted the fact that VU is providing quality education of international standard at an extremely affordable cost to the aspiring students. Not only VU own students are benefiting from this facility but other educationists and institutions are also taking advantage of such an open source of knowledge, he added.
