A full bench of Lahore High Court here Monday heard short arguments of an amicus curie in a petition challenging dual office of President Asif Ali Zardari and adjourned further proceedings to January 19. The amicus curie, Abid Hasan Minto in his arguments maintained that to meet the constitutional requirement, a political figure, when becomes president, should remain non-partisan.
The petitioner's counsel A.K Dogar said that more than a year has lapsed but the court could not decide the matter. At this, the bench said that the court would announce its verdict as soon as the counsels conclude their arguments.
