A function, comprised recitation of holy verses from Qur'an, na'at, speeches, tableau and dua-i-Said, to celebrate National Children Day, 9th January - birthday of Hakim Said was organised by Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi chapter on January 9, 2011 at a local hotel.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and former ambassador of Pakistan, Mahdi Masud said, it should be the motive of life of new generation to make Pakistan a successful state, because Pakistan was achieved through great struggle and sacrifices and these sacrifices must not go in vain.
He further said that if a man had all qualities except the quality of moral courage, his other qualities would be dimmed. Because of the quality of moral courage was the protector of other qualities and made a man independent and strong. Hakim Said had the quality of moral courage in abundance, which made him prominent and different among others. That's why he used to express his views fearlessly, he added.
"Love for children is a touchstone for testing the greatness and good heartedness of a man, Hakim Said loved children and did a lot for their betterment to such an extent that no other person could be able to do in Pakistan", he maintained. He said that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad All Jinnah on August 9, 1947, five days before Pakistan came into being, in a meeting, had said that Islam taught us about social justice and rule of law and we should follow these principles in Pakistan. Unfortunately we did not follow them and now we were facing the terrible situation of terrorism and law and order, he said, adding that the internal threat of mutual disputes could only harm Pakistan, which should be resolved through dialogue for the safety of the country.
Earlier Mrs Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan while addressing the function said that the example of Hakim Said's love and affection for children was matchless in the country as he loved children so much that he gradually started many works for the education, training, health and mental development of children. He brought out the children magazine-"Hamdard Naunehal" in 1953, which was still publishing. Establishment of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly was another important work, done by Hakim Said for children to raise their dormant qualities and latent potentialities and create self-confidence among them, which was the key of success in the life.
She further said that Hakim Said did not ignore the village children and founded Hamdard Village School for them. Child speakers Angbeen Mushtaque, Mohammed Mazhar Khan, Saima Bisharat, Muhammad Hameez Khan Sherwani, Nayyara Ghulam Muhammad, Kainaat Siddiqui, Ramsha Kumwal, Nadia Farooque and Shuniza Sarfaraz also spoke and paid great homage to Hakim Said. Hamdard Public School presented a tableau and Hamdard Village School dua-i-Said while Ms Khushboo compered the function in which parent, teachers and children in a large number participated.-PR
