Country's first state of the art breakfast cereals plant, capable of producing over 30,000 boxes of cereal per day, started working on Monday. The plant is located in Faisalabad Industrial Estate, which will give the country an opportunity to export breakfast cereals processed using Pakistani maize.
According to a press release issued here, the plant built by Agroventures (Pvt) Ltd was inaugurated by a prominent Swiss industrialist Baron Lorne Thyssen-Bornemisza in Faisalabad on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Thyssen-Bornemisza said that Pakistan has huge potential of becoming a major global player in value-added agribusiness processing.
He said that federal and Punjab governments are strongly supporting agribusiness investment in Pakistan and international investors should take advantage of this opportunity. The industrialist, along-with with Agroventures founder Aamer A. Sarfraz also announced a further US $30 million investment, in value-added grain procession in Punjab.
