Around 150,000 Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiaries would be provided free mobiles for improved delivery system of cash grants through Mobile Phone Banking. An official of the programme told APP that the registered beneficiaries of Musakhel, Layyah, Batgram and Larkana will get mobile phones in the first phase enabling them to receive their cash grant in most convenient and transparent way.
The process of mobile phones distribution among beneficiaries has been initiated in these district and over 3000 free mobile phones were disbursed in Naudero, Rato Dero, Dokhri and Bakharani of Larkana District the other day, the official added. BISP is striving hard for eradication of poverty from the country making it a welfare state and nation-wide poverty survey is being conducted as a primary target the register more deserving families under the programme. The survey will be completed before June this year rising the number of total beneficiary families up to five millions.
The survey has recently being launched in Peshawar, Naudero, Dera Ghazi Khan and Lahore by the Chairperson BISP, Farzana Raja. After enrolment, the families will be able to get benefited from monthly cash grant, vocational training, returnable loans under Waseela-e-Haq and life Insurance.
