The Karachi Port handled 100,281 tonnes of cargo including 68,339 tonnes of import cargo, 31,942 tonnes of export cargo, 4,417 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 68,339 tonnes comprised of 27,444 tonnes of containerised cargo; 31,974 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,871 tonnes of DAP; 27,100 tonnes of coal and 8,877 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,942 tonnes comprised of 27,491 tonnes of containerised cargo; 254 tonnes of bulk cargo and 4,197 tonnes of cement. Six ships namely President Adams, Miami Maiden, Topaz II, James River Bridge, Jakarta Express and Kota Arif with containers, bulk cargo and bags sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz STX Patriakos, Ocean President, Kota Arif, Polaris Stardom, OEL Shreyas and C S L Ride carrying containers, bulk cargo and containers are currently at the berth. Seven ships namely STX Patriakos, Christina, Lodestar Genusis, Tuna, MSC Jemima, OEL Shreyas and C S L Ride are expected to sail on Friday.
Six Four vessels viz Sea Hope, M T Lahore, Galaxy, Simber, OOCL Charleston and Pacific Champ carrying crude oil, palm oil, containers and coal due to arrive on Friday, while six vessels viz APL Sokhna, Wan Hai 602, Viona, Alliance Beaumont, Yalibel and Banglar Kallol with containers, vehicles, coal, wheat and jute are due to arrive on Saturday.
A total number of nine vessels viz CVCGM Carol, CV CGM Effel, CV CSAV Cantabrian, MV Troy, MV Yon Phung Ho, MV Lagonda, MV Lanka Mahapola, MT Gulf Crown and MT Chem Orchid are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar, wheat, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely MT Al-Salam-II, Kihada, Glory, MSC Anafi and MT Samho Sapphire carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four container vessels viz CV Glory, CV MSC Anafi, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Samho Sapphire with containers, diesel oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. An oil container ship namely Chemroad due to arrive on the same day.
