England batsmen Paul Collingwood has announced his retirement from Test cricket following the current 5th and final Ashes Test in Sydney. Collingwood, who has represented England at Test level on 68 occasions, will continue as England's Twenty20 captain and as a member of England's ODI squad, says a ECB announcement.
He led England to victory in the World T20 Cup in the West Indies last year. In a statement Collingwood said: "Representing England at Test level has always been a dream of mine and I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed some amazing highs throughout my Test career. His highest Test score of 206 came against Australia, at Adelaide, in 2006.
