The Karachi Port handled 125,189 tonnes of cargo including 101,315 tonnes of import cargo, 23,874 tonnes of export cargo, 4,097 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 101,315 tonnes comprised of 30,410 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26,330 tonnes of bulk cargo and 44,575 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,874 tonnes comprised of 21,172 tonnes of containerised cargo and 2,702 tonnes of bulk cargo. Eleven ships namely Nordana Andrea, SC Guangzhou, New Challenge, SD Nova, Bux Melody, Noble Coral, TS Nogoya, Liberty Promise, Legend Phoenix, APL Chicago and Conti Asia with containers, cement, steel and containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eleven vessels viz MOL Seabreeze, Hyundai Oakland, Conti Asia, Legend Phoenix, Noble Coral, Medi Chennal, APL Ruby, Salin M, Gulf Tiger, Liberty Promise and MT Karachi carrying containers, steel, general cargo, coal, DAP, LSFO, vehicle and crude oil are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely APL Ruby and Neelam carrying containers and coal expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Hyundai Oakland and Gulf Tiger with containers and furnace oil are expected to sail on Tuesday. One vessel viz Thana Bhum carrying containers due to arrive on Monday, while seven vessels viz Bow Century, James River Bridge, Viona, Samin-1, President Adams, Strong and Mariner with Tallow oil, containers, tug and vehicle are due to arrive on Tuesday.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Mearsk Utha, CV Rio Elder, MV Lanka Mahapola, MV Timios Stayros, MV MY Young, MV Yon Phung Ho, MT DL Violet, MV Panaglotis-D and Bow Aratu are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar, chemicals, canola seeds and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Royal Peridot and Troy carrying chemicals and rice are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz namely MV Royal Peridot and MT Chem Orchid with chemicals and palm oil are expected to take berths at Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
