Taxes disputes regarding excise department: DRC formed to resolve business community issues

Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has constituted a Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) to address the issues of the business community regarding all taxes fall under the excise department, said Shamail Ahmed Khawaja, Secretary Excise and Taxation Punjab here on Monday.
The DRC was constituted in consultation with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), which will prove a better platform to resolve the taxation disputes, he said while talking to President RCCI Ali Raza Saeed Shah and Senior Executives of the RCCI during his visit to chamber. "Traders are facing many problems concerning property tax and resolution of all their problems is the top priority of the Excise Department," Shamail Khwaja said.
Secretary Excise and Taxation said that with the help of the RCCI training programmes and workshop would be started in the Chamber to create awareness among the business community regarding taxes. He vowed that taxation system would be made easy to get maximum revenue. He ensured his full co-operation to the President RCCI.
President RCCI Ali Raza said that business community would support the government stance to enhance tax collection, but in return the said community must be facilitated in terms of taxation process. While stressing the need for the paperless environment, he said that property tax, Motor Vehicle and token tax system must be made online to facilitate the masses. He thanked the Secretary for his visit to the RCCI.
