GHL serving humanity with great zeal

The staff of General Hospital Lahore spent year 2010 providing service to the suffering humanity under the dynamic leadership of Principal Tariq Salahuddin. The hospital made arrangements in such a way that the patients and their near and dear ones did not face any difficulty during the entire year, and its initiatives took medical profession to new heights.
It was these services that Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif announced to establish PGMI Medical College, Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences and announced a grant of 10 million rupees. During the whole process of development and announcement in the hospital, the role of Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad could not be denied. It is also pertinent to mention here that two important political figures of the country were admitted in LGH, one of which was Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.
After resuming the charge of principal of the hospital in February 2010, Professor Tariq Salahuddin removed the old begging house from the hospital and ensured friendly environment to the patients. The principal also took practical measures for the establishment of a neuro sciences institute at the hospital. He also stepped up work on phase II of the development project, which was slowly progressing, and shifted emergency department offices and wards in the new building. He also unified all outdoor departments in one place so that the patients do not face difficulties and benefit from all the services under one roof.
