Islamabad Police have plans to establish seven police posts, a Police Station Complex and security gates to ensure better security for the dwellers of newly established sector, G-13. Islamabad Police have divided the Federal Capital into various security rings to ensure complete security for the people living in the capital, said Kamaluddin Tipu, deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters here on Saturday.
"Effective steps are being taken for safety of the citizens by erecting security wall and installing security gates in the sector," Tipu said while addressing the handing over ceremony.
A graceful ceremony was arranged by Residents Welfare Society of Sector G-13, which was attended by Director General Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) Talat Rasheed Rashid Mian, DIG Headquarters Kamaluddin Tipu, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mehfooz Elahi, SPs Dr Khurram Rasheed, Jameel Hashmi, Umer Hyat, DSP Malik Tahir, SHO Golra Inspector Mehboob Ahmed and notables of the area.
Director General FGEHF handed over the possession letters of the plots for police check posts and police station complex to DIG (Headquarters) Islamabad. He also assured to provide the basic amenities of life in this sector after co-operation with Capital Development Authority. DIG Tipu highlighted the efforts of Islamabad police in maintaining peace in the city and said that our personnel have rendered great sacrifices in the line of duty and also embraced martyrdom to ensure protection to the citizens.
He said that crime can be curbed through participation of community, and local people will be involved in future for effective policing. The Director General FGEHF said that funds have been given to CDA for Link roads and some maintenance work in the sector G-13. With the co-operation of CDA and FWO, basic amenities have been almost provided and remaining would be done soon, he maintained. He thanked Chief Commissioner Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Chairman CDA, IGP and DIG for special co-operation in resolving the various problems of the inhabitants.
He said that matter of land acquisition and possession in sector G-14/1-2-3 would also be resolved in an amicable manner, adding that plot have been reserved in G-13 Markaz for police station complex and for police posts, barracks and pickets in sub-sectors.
Talat Rasheed Rashid Mian committed to establish one Model Police Post, water filtration plant and providing barriers to control traffic at over head-bridge in the sector. President of Residents Welfare Society sector G-13 Aslam Khokhar on behalf of local community thanked Director General FGEHF for taking special interest in the development work of the sector. Khokhar also thanked him for specifying area for the police security system and issuing NOC for the security wall and gates. Later, DG FGEHF and DIG (Headquarters) unveiled the plaque of the site of Police Station Complex and prayed for peace in the area.
