Four-month 'Talented Researcher Exchange Programme' (TRXP), under the auspices of British Council-Higher Education Commission Pakistan joint venture "International Strategic Partnerships in Research & Education (INSPIRE) Programme", concluded at Government College University.
Above 100 researchers from 25 educational and professional institutions, including Punjab University, State Bank of Pakistan, NCBAE, Punjab Education Department, Planning and Development Department, Gilgit-Baltistan, Virtual University, Superior University and Kinniard College took part in the training programme which was aimed at enhancing indigenous research culture in Pakistan and help broaden impact of research projects as well as their sustainability.
Participants of the programme were also equipped with active thinking and learning procedures through lectures and hand-on practice during the three workshops which were spread over 24 sessions. The young researchers were also trained in building strong research networks and writing winning research proposals under TRXP.
Addressing the researchers at the closing ceremony, GCU Economics Department Chairperson, Asif Saeed said the varsity has utilised the training programme for establishing a research network among various educational and professional institutions of the country. He said researchers from different backgrounds came to GCU and learned from each other's experiences and skills during the training. Expressing his views, TRXP workshops co-ordinator Aqeel Imtiaz Wahga said that the main focus of the training was to broaden the impact of research projects and their sustainability.
