Probe into exchange of indecent remarks: Chaudhry Nisar proposes forming parliamentary body
Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday proposed constitution of a Parliamentary committee including media persons to probe the exchange of derogatory language against the top leadership of both Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qumi Movement (MQM), to which the MQM showed no objection.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali said that everyone has the right of criticism but nobody can use indecent and abusive language against each other. "The House should take notice of it and find who started it," he said. He said that a Parliamentary Committee should be constituted across the board including media persons to investigate about the truth behind this mud slinging.
The Opposition leader also showed serious concern on the news items carried by foreign media dubbing Pakistani agencies as violators of human rights. He said that the government must take notice of such happenings.
"We cannot declare anybody convict without ample proof," he said. Waseem Akhter of MQM said that his party agreed on this proposal to bring truth to the fore. If anybody levels allegations on our leadership without any proof he would face strong reaction. He said that if senior parliamentarians would resort to use such language what juniors Parliamentarians will learn from them.
