Capital police arrest car thief

Islamabad Police have arrested a car lifter red-handed, while four other outlaws including a woman, were nabbed for their alleged involvement in drug peddling, possessing illegal weapons. One car, 1100 gram hashish, 450 gram heroin and three wine bottles were recovered from the detained persons, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Thursday.
A car bearing the registration No LW-876 was stolen from industrial area and the owner immediately reported in Industrial Area Police Station and a message was released by Rescue 15 and Police Control Room for all patrolling teams in the capital, he added.
He said that following the incident, DSP (Rural) Sardar Babar Mumtaz held a special search and police team started checking at Koral Chowk. The police team lead by Sub Inspector, Muhammad Nawaz observed the stolen car near Koral Chowk. The car lifter who was later identified as Yusuf show resistance, but police over-powered him and arrested along with a 30-bore pistol.
Meanwhile, Tarnol Police arrested a lady drug smuggler Shakeela Bibi from Motorway Chowk and during the course of search 1.1 kg hashish was recovered from her. Another drug smuggler Bakht Nazeer was also arrested by Tarnol Police and 450 gram heroin was recovered from him. Sabzi Mandi Police arrested Shafique and Shehbaz, recovering three wine bottles from their possession. Separate cases were registered against the detained outlaws and further investigation is in progress. SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of policemen who arrested these culprits.
