A meeting of Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) consists of Tax Officers and members of leading Business Organisation and Tax Bar Associations was held at Regional Tax Office, Hyderabad. The meeting discussed the issues relating to broadening of tax base, non-filers of tax returns, collection of arrears and problems being faced by the taxpayers like delay in refunds, registration and e-filing.
The meeting was chaired by Nadeem Ahmed Farooqui, chief commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Hyderabad. The meeting was attended by Haji Muhamad Yaqoob, representative of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mian Rashid, Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association, Saleem Vohra, Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Shahi Bazar, Hyderabad, Nihal Shah, Kotri Association of Trade and Industry, Shoukat Khayyam, Hyderabad SITE Association, Al-Haaj Fazal-ur-Rehman, Sarafa Bazar Association, Naeem Siddiqui, Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Saddar Bazar Association, Arshad Hussain, Cloth Market Association, Tilak Incline, Hyderabad, Rehmat Ali Shaikh, Hyderabad Tax Bar Association and Arshad Qureshi, Advocate, Central Sindh Tax Bar, Nawabshah.
The business community appreciated efforts taken by the Chief Commissioner, RTO, Hyderabad, for redressing taxpayers' grievances and assured him of full co-operation in efforts undertaken with regard to broadening of tax base and optimising of tax revenue.
