Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 114,188 tonnes of cargo including 82,901 tonnes of import cargo, 31,287 tonnes of export cargo, 4,876 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 82,901 tonnes comprised of 30,778 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,057 tonnes of general cargo; 26,567 tonnes of bulk cargo: 870 tonnes of sugar; 14,479 tonnes of coal; 11,218 canola seeds and 20,499 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,287 tonnes comprised of 24,727 tonnes of containerised cargo; 465 tonnes of general cargo; 6,095 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,521 tonnes of cement and 3,574 tonnes of rice. Five ships namely Freight Margie, Samin-1, Positano, Cora and Ocean Island with tankers, containers and bulk cargo sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessel viz Urawee Naree, Bunga Raya Tiga, MT Lahore, APL Agate, CSL Ride, Iron Butterfly, Ocean Host and Priya carrying general cargo, containers, tankers and bulk cargo are currently at the berth. Three ships namely Hyundai General, Bunga Raya Tiga and Iron Butterfly expected to sail on Wednesday, while four ships namely OEL Trust, MT Lahore, Troy and CSL Ride are expected to sail on Thursday. One vessel viz Thuringia Express carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two vessels viz Polaris Stardom and Hanjin Beijiang with chemicals and containers are due to arrive on Thursday.

The total export cargo includes 15,672 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Najran sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Mazort is expected to sail on the same day. A total number of seven vessels viz CMA CGM Mazort, CV Najran, MV MY Young, MV Yon Phung Ho, MV Lanka Mahapola, MV Al-Jaber and MT Chemroad Fuji are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely ACX Hibicus, ST Martin, Panaglotis-D, Al-Soor-II, Sichem Marseille and Hartati carrying containers, LPG, canola seeds, chemicals and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of six vessels viz namely CV ACX Hibicus, CV Ville-D-Orion, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Hartati, MT Sichem Marseille and MV Panaglotis-D with containers, diesel oil, palm oil, chemicals and canola seeds are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW1) and FAP respectively on Wednesday.
A container ship namely CV MSC Nederland due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more container ships namely CV Lahore Express and CV CSAV Jura are due to arrive on Thursday. A total number of three vessels viz Maersk Glory, MSC Anafi and Times Stavros carrying containers and rice are also due to arrive.
