IG NH&MP inspects polio immunisation drive

Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Dr Wasim Kauser has inspected three-day polio vaccination drive and administered polio droops to children at N-5 Central Zonal office Lahore here on Wednesday. Dr Kauser said that children were their future and the government was committed to make Pakistan a polio free country. The DIG N-5 Central Syed Ibne Hussain and SSP Inkesar Ali Khan were also present.
He appreciated the efforts of NH&MP officers for joining hands with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF in order to eliminate polio from Pakistan. He said that NH&MP was the only force in the Asia, which in real sense presented itself as Service Oriented and friendly force. The IG and DIG administered the three days polio campaign by giving the drops to children near Thoker Niaz Baig Lahore.
Dr kauser said that in the last 7 polio drives, near about 0.2 million children in transit have been vaccinated polio drops. He said that all officers of NH&MP have got training from PIMS, Islamabad, Jinnah Hospital Lahore and Liaquat Medical Hospital Karachi for trauma handling and first aid, therefore, these officers could fully handle the victims of accidents in better way. He said that NH&MP is making all these efforts to serve the people of Pakistan and has proved as Service Oriented Institution.
He also said the efforts of NH&MP to eradicate polio have been recognised and appreciated at international level, ie in the WHO Conference at Geneva and by UNICEF etc. Syed Ibne Hussain also spoke on the occasion and said that they were committed to make Pakistan a safe and healthy country society and they had installed polio vaccination camps at different locations throughout National Highways.
