The Chinese trade delegation has assured to invest in energy, telecom, agriculture and many other sectors, which would bring large-scale investment and create vast employment opportunities in the country.
Former Punjab Minister for industries, Khawaja Muhammad Jalaluddin Roomi, Chairman of All Pakistan Bedsheet & Upholstry Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) told newsmen here on Tuesday that he was highly impressed with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and businessmen delegation who had assured bringing large-scale investment in Pakistan.
Roomi termed the visit of the Chinese Premier to Pakistan very significant saying it would open up new avenues of co-operation in diverse fields besides cementing already strong ties between the two friendly states. Roomi said that the credit goes to President Zardari who had visited China many times following the suit of PPP's founder Chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and convinced the Chinese premier to visit Pakistan soon after India.
He welcomed the guests on behalf of the South Punjab entrepreneurs, industrialists and exporters. Roomi briefed the Chinese delegation that South Punjab produces 80 percent of total cotton production and it had a potential for agro-based industry and solar energy. Roomi has said that the recent 3-day official visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan has further reinforced strategic partnership between two friendly countries adding that Chinese Premier termed wisely that, "China, Pakistan relations have moved beyond bilateral dimensions. He said that Pakistanis greeted Chinese premier from the core of their hearts.
