Flood-hit families: German-based NGO distributes solar energy kits
German Aid for Afghan Children has distributed kits of solar energy producing system among 1000 flood affected families of Kaidaam and Gornai areas of district Swat for provision of electricity. For the installation of the solar system and wiring in the houses a team of engineers have also been sent to the area. Country Director, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Engineer Alam Shahab distributed the solar energy system at central office of the German funded NGO in Kaidaam.
In next phase of the relief package, Engineer Alam Shahab said the organisation would provide solar cooker to 500 deserving families for cooking food. The president of the organisation, Dr Eros has completed planning in this regard and the facility would be provided to the flood affected families soon.
He said that the expenses for supply of solar energy based electricity to the houses of the flood affected victims would be born by the organisation itself. The solar energy system is prepared in Germany while Dr Eros is declaring a gift for his Pakistan brethren and is a proof of the love of the people of Germany with the people of Pakistan.
In his message read out by the Country Director, Engineer Alam Shahab, Dr Eros has said that the people of Germany stand on the side of their Pakistan brethren at every time of difficulty and have shared their grief and sorrow.
The president of the organisation has issued special directives for the review of the requirements and needs of the flood affected people and provision of facilities in the context of the severity of the winter season particularly to children and women on priority basis. He stressed the need for accelerating the relief activities, including the provision of warm clothes to the people of snowfall affecting areas. The organisation will continue its relief operation and requirements would be provided at their door steps.-PR
