Ruling elite of Balochistan always blackmailed government: PML-Q
Major political parties and elite class of Balochistan always blackmailed the government for their vested interests, rather for national interest. PML-Q leader Shaikh Waqas Akram expressed these views on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
"Ruling elite of Balochistan who are sitting in provincial and National Assembly always blackmailed the government for their petty interests, as they never took any step for the rights of the common men. We should do something practically for the rights of the people of Balochistan," he urged.
"The country is facing severe financial crisis, we have adopted double standards about the imposition of Reformed General Sales Tax (GST) Bill, 2010. Some parliamentarians are secretly supporting the imposition of the Reformed GST, however they publicly opposed it," he said.
Earlier, Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir (Retd) of PML-N while raising the issue of law and order in the province, said people are being kidnapped and killed in the province, but the government is not taking any action against the culprits. "The national anthem cannot be sung and even national flag cannot be waved on the buildings," he said. He said in this regard, the government should take initiative before it the time will pass," he said. Nadeem Afzal Gondal said there are some forces who do not want democracy in the country. He said that neither the democracy nor the Parliament is so strong to make these forces accountable.
