The Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff of Iqbal Town Division, Lahore has arrested a famous ringleader of Tariq Javeed Shah car lifting gang and recovered 13 cars, one tractor and one motorcycle worth rupees 74 lakh and 50 thousand (over 0.74 million) from their possession.
The criminals, during preliminary interrogation, have confessed to stolen 12 cars, one tractor and one bike in Lahore, two cars from District Meerpur, Azad Kashmir and five from District Rawalpindi. On the directives of Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Aslam Tareen, SP CRO Sajjad Hassan Manj directed DSP Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff, Saleem Mukhtar Butt to take effective measures against the car lifter gangs. SP CRO constituted a special team under the supervision of ASI Qamar Rasool of Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff, Iqbal Town Division and other police officials.
The police team worked day and night and collected particulars of Tariq Javeed Shah car lifter gang and arrested its famous ringleader Tariq Javeed. The modus operandi of the criminals was that with the help of a master key, they would unlock vehicles and take them to Peshawar through motorway where they sold it at cheaper rates. The ringleader of this gang has already been sent to the jail.
