If there is good governance in Punjab due to the support of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) then why the same is not applicable to other provinces and centre. This point was raised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Pervaiz Rashid while talking to Business Recorder on Monday in reaction to President Asif Ali Zardari's speech at Naudero.
"If there is good governance in Punjab with the participation of PPP, why this formula is not applicable in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the centre. Moreover, who is responsible for this?" he posed the question. He said that there is good governance in Punjab as Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is the best administrator and decision maker.
He said, "Neither the President nor the PML-N has the right to decide the term of the government. It is the right of the people of Pakistan to decide, on the basis of performance about governance." The PML-N had always accepted the decision of the people he added. Pervaiz said that Nawaz Sharif sacrificed, offending the people of district Mansehra in the greater national interest, to get 18th Amendment through, from the parliament.
He said that earlier, the NFC award was given on the basis of population, but it was that first time that Punjab sacrificed and accepted the 7th NFC award not only on the basis of population but also on the basis of backwardness of other provinces. He said that PML-N made the sacrifice in better national interest.
