PIA Board approves corporate budget: revenue target set at Rs 133 billion for 2011

PIA's 329th Board of Directors meeting was held at PIA Head Office. The Board approved the corporate budget for the year 2011 with a revenue target of Rs 133 billion, which is 22 percent higher than the expected actual revenues of 2010. The Board emphasised that the management should take all-out efforts to meet the assigned target.
The Board appreciated the efforts of the management which despite volcanic eruptions and snowstorm in Europe and slowdown of economic situation all over the world, enabled PIA to surpass the budgeted revenue target of 2010.
The Board expressed profound gratitude to Asif Ali Zardari, Hon'ble President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan for visiting PIA facilities in Karachi on December 25, 2010 and welcomed the announcements he made during his address to PIA employees regarding permanent absorption of daily wage workers and inauguration of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto-Apna Ghar Scheme.
The meeting was chaired by Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Minister for Defence & Chairman PIA and attended by Captain Muhammad Aijaz Haroon, Managing Director PIA, Syed Naseer Ahmad, Malik Nazir Ahmed, Javed Akhtar, Lieutenant General Syed Athar Ali (Retd), Federal Secretary Defence, Mubashir Iftikhar, Dr Waqar Masood Khan, Federal Secretary Finance and Hussain Lawai.-PR
