Punjab Minister for Population Welfare, Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry has said that PPP has promoted real democracy in Pakistan and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto made a history of social, economic and political welfare with her continuous efforts and hard work.
She said that UN gave human rights award to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto which is an honour for the country as well as the people and the new generation may get guidance from the teachings of Shaheed Prime Minister and work for the strengthening of democratic institutions.
While addressing various delegations and PPP women workers on the eve of third anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry said that PPP is the saviour party of the country and would continue struggle for the welfare of the people and protection of the country. She said PPP always struggled for strengthening democratic institutions and rights of downtrodden people, and it is the party whose leaders as well as workers both sacrificed their lives to achieve the goals.
She recalled the political will of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that said 'if fear for the future of Pakistan, the party would continue to fight against extremism, ignorance and poverty'. She said that party workers rededicate themselves to the ideals for which Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto struggled for and laid down her life.
The womenfolk will be empowered in all sections of society and opportunities of employment will be provided to them in government, semi-government and private organisations so that they could play their due role in the development of the country, she concluded.
