Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and Chairman Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Zamurd Khan said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was a committed leader with extraordinary political vision and wisdom.
"She struggled throughout her life for the welfare of humanity and we would continue her mission. December 27 is a day of colossal sorrow and national tragedy when we lost a leader of the east," he expressed these views while addressing a seminar on Life and Services of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as chief guest. The seminar was organised at Islamabad Campus of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) on Monday.
Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik, Rector, International Islamic University, Islamabad and Ms Marvi Sirmed, Project Director, UNDP were the guests of honour. Syed Asad Hussain, Director SZABIST Islamabad was also present on the occasion. Zamurd Khan said Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first female elected Prime Minister, who is an example for the women of the nation to follow. "She had always given a special importance to education sector," he added.
Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik said that history would remember Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her relentless efforts for the well being of the common man. He said like her father Shaheed BB played a key role in making Pakistan stronger and also admired her political wisdom and leadership qualities.
Earlier in his welcome address, Syed Asad Hussain said that Shaheed BB had always given priority to the education sector. "A testimony to the fact is that she is the Founding Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology," he said.
