All wings of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Monday unanimously demanded the exposure of the killers of their late leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to bring them into justice. The unanimous demand was made during a function held in connections with the 3rd death anniversary of late PPP chairperson, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) under the auspices of Peoples' Doctors Forum (PDF),
Those who addressed were included President, Peoples' Lawyers Forum (PLF), Barrister Masood Kausar, Secretary Finance, PPP, Khyber Pakhhtunkhwa Ghani Gul Mehsood, former district nazim, Peshawar, Azam Khan Afridi, president, Peoples' Doctor Forum (PDF), Dr Nisar Ahhmad, president, Peoples' labour Bureau (PPLB), Tila Mohammad, President, Peoples' Youth Organisation (PYO), Zulqarnain and general secretary, Misbahuddin Khan and former leaders of the students wing Abdullah Yusufzai and Waheed Afzal Golra.
Two specially drafted resolutions were also passed from the function, which was read out by provincial president, PYO, Misbahudddin Khan. Through the resolutions unanimously adopted, the participants of the function demanded the early completion of the investigations to expose the faces of the murderers of the party chairperson, Benazir Bhutto. Through, the second resolution the party workers urged the PPP led government for following Bhuttoism in letter and in spirit to prove that the present government is true follower of the philosophy of Bhuttos.
Addressing the function, all speakers were unanimous in demanding the exposure of the faces of the killers of their leader, saying failure in doing will be a matter of shame for the party workers. Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Masood Kausar, a former speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and president, Peoples' Lawyer Forum, (PLF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that difference between PPP and other political parties is the political philosophy on which it has been founded.
He said that the programme or manifesto prepared by scholars and educated segment of society attracted labourers, peasants and youth of the country. The PPP, he said, was lucky as segments of society interested in bringing change come forward to join it. He said that the party is fully capable of filling the existing gape between the government and general public.
He said that political parties are based on policies, saying such parties always proved durable. Regarding the dissatisfaction of the party workers, he called for utilising the capabilities of all cadres to play role in the projection of the policies of the government. He said that Benazir Bhutto assumed the charge of the affairs of the party after the sad demise of chairman, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said that they were expecting the role played by Benazir Bhutto as it was a tyrannical regime of Zia-ul-Haq. He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto waged short struggle of three years against the military dictatorship, but Benazir Bhutto wrote a new history by facing 11 years long hardships of the military dictatorship of Zia-ull-Haq and recent Pervez Musharraf rule.
The sacrifices of Benazir Bhutto, he said not only filled the vacuum created after the demise of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, but also gave a new courage, hope and new leadership to the people of Pakistan. He said that several conspiracies were hatched in the killing of Benzir Bhutto, saying that she was having two options, either to protect her own life or Pakistan. But she preferred Pakistan to her own life.
The senior PPP leader said that Benazir Bhutto had delivered last speech at Liaquat Bagh was also having a message of saving the federation of Pakistan. He said that no doubt the government is facing challenges, saying the reconciliation policy was initiated for the protection of the federation of Pakistan. He urged the party leadership to include all wings of PPP in decision making of the government. He said that the workers of PPP would not take rest till the bringing of the killers of Benzir Bhutto into justice.
